Hi my name is Emma Murphy,
I am the Centre Manager and Nominated Supervisor at Kids Capers Childcare Clayfield. I hold my Diploma of Children’s Services am currently studying my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
I have been in the childcare industry since 2008, starting out as an assistant in the nursery at this very centre then on to Lead Educator positions with various age groups and now in the Centre Manager roll here that began in 2003.
I love every aspect of my position, whether it is guiding my amazing team of Educators, working with the families or building relationships with the children. I am extremely passionate about the Early Years Learning Framework and providing a play based program for children. I am a strong believer that you must be on the floor of your centre, to know your centre.
I am also the Support Manager to our Bald Hills, Northgate and Sandgate Centre Managers. I spend one day a week supporting Sarah Janessa and Tannis working with them and their wonderful teams. The community at Kids Capers Clayfield is my family and when you are a part of this centre you will feel it too.
Hello my name is Amanda,
I am excited to be the Assistant Centre Manager of our beautiful Clayfield centre. I enjoy building relationships with educators and helping them to grow and support their learning.
I am the proud mum for two boys, Jay and Bailey. We relocated to Brisbane from Adelaide in 2016 with my husband and children, and every day in the sunshine state feels like a holiday.
I have had the opportunity this year to complete my Diploma in Early Childhood Education that has opened up many new doors to help me grow and understand the new curriculum and incorporate new ideas into the centre.
I have a passion for my career as an educator because I enjoy watching and supporting children as they grow and show their full potential. As a mum of two boys I understand the demands of home and work balance, and feel that I can support families in their journey as they move through the early years of education.
I truly look forward to building solid relationships with the children, families and educators.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Facilities & Programs
We opened in 2003, run by a passionate team of dedicated Educators. Our centre offers 244 places for the needs of children from the age of six weeks to six years.
We are very proud to announce that in March of 2016 Kids Capers Clayfield received an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard.
In 2017 we extended the centre to include an additional three rooms of Approved Kindergarden places that follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). We now have thirteen spacious air-conditioned rooms including natural indoor and outdoor play spaces, an animal farm, on site pool with swimming lessons to name a few.
All of our educators hold relevant qualifications for their rolls or are studying towards these. Our Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and provide all children with equal opportunities within our play based environment.
We are conveniently located just down the road from Eagle Junction station and busses, or a short drive to Brisbane City.
The children are free to move through our blooming vegetable gardens, slide down our log slide, get a little wet while they role play in the boat, climb over and through our logs, and explore our rocky creek bed in our dinosaur park. When they are ready to move inside they can bring with them the produce from our gardens and get inventive in our children’s kitchen.
We welcome you to call the centre or drop in where we can answer your questions, introduce you to our team of Educators and walk you through all the environments.
Health and Safety of Children
We believe all children have the right to experience quality care and the health and safety of children is paramount. We encourage children to be independent and confident with their own health and safety needs.
(Quality Area 2, Learning Outcomes 1 & 3)
We aim to provide an environment that is welcoming, educational and inclusive to all children. That allows children to feel comfortable, to be in the moment, belong to the environment and become themselves.
(Quality Area 3, Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Practice 5)
Our educators value the importance of building meaningful, trusting relationships with each and every child as well as their families to provide the important level of consistency in care. We will work collaboratively with each other, the children and their families, the community and relevant professional organisations to achieve the best outcomes for children.
(Quality Area 5 & 6, Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Principle 1 & 2)
Our centre acknowledges that learning happens anywhere, at any time. Through this educators are dedicated to providing engaging programs based on children’s interests, family culture and needs. We achieve this through our ever changing and developing environments where educators encourage children to explore, take risks and connect them to their world.
(Quality Area 1, Learning Outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5, Practice 3)
Our passionate and enthusiastic educators are committed to professional development and the growth of the centre. All of the educators thoroughly enjoy what they do and strive to support children to become confident, curious, creative, independent, resilient and happy individuals.
