Hi my name is Farah M Nor,
I am supporting Angie in my role as the Assistant Centre Manager here at Kids Capers Mango Hill.
I started my teaching career in Singapore as a high school teacher. When we moved to Australia, I had the privilege of working in different schools teaching students from Prep to Yr 12. This experience sparked an interest in me to explore the early childhood years and led me to extend my knowledge further by pursuing a Master of Early Childhood Education in 2012. In the same year, I joined the Kids Capers team as the kindergarten teacher. I stepped into my current role in 2016 and am proud to work with our current team of Educators.
I strongly believe in forming positive partnerships with our families to achieve the best possible outcome for every child. Angie and I look forward to welcoming you to our centre and be a part of our Mango Hill family.
Here at Kids capers Mango Hill, we are a 117 place centre, providing care for children from 6 weeks to school age with 8 air conditioned rooms that open to spacious outdoor playgrounds. With an additional play space designed to challenge the active at heart.
Our team consists of a qualified Kindergarten Teacher as well as qualified Educators that currently hold a Diploma or working toward this qualification. All of the Educators are dedicated and embrace the implementation of both the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidlines (QKLG) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
We believe that all children should have feel a sence of belonging to their environment and thus we encourage each child to feel as though they are able to make decisions that influence the world around them. Each child's learning is specific to their needs and interests, allowing for many wonderful learning opportunities to take place.
Our outdoor environments offer the opportunity for children to explore the natural environment as they are encouraged to help maintain and tend to the gardens. The children also have the opportunity to cultivate their vegitable gardens and create meals from what has grown.
We look forward to meeting you and your family.
“We would like to recognise the traditional owners of this land, the Gubbi Gubbi people, on whose land we build our community today”.
Will be safe, inclusive, nurturing and engaging with a strong emphasis on partnerships with families and open communication. This will ensure each child, their family and the Educators feel a sense of belonging, while offering a welcoming environment that will support and encourage children to grow freely in their environment.
Are qualified, motivated and passionate Educators committed to developing nurturing and trusting relationships with our children and families, encouraging them to experience a sense of being. We will provide a fun, play based learning program for children to explore and experience life’s wonders and develop a love of learning.
We understand that each child will develop in their own time, creating their own identity and grow toward becoming a confident and happy member of society who actively participates in their community. We believe children’s health, wellbeing and safe is paramount and we encourage this through promoting a healthy lifestyle through provision of our program and practices.
Our goal is to build strong relationships with the wider community and value the contribution to the children’s learning that this will bring. We will enable a sense of belonging, which will be built on respect and love for the future of our children.
Our Play Based Learning Program
Our centre provides a play based curriculum in line with the Early Years Learning Framework & the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, where programs reflect children’s needs, interests and strengths so that they are actively involved in their learning. There is a strong emphasis on the concepts of Belonging, Being and Becoming.
The development of self-esteem, wellbeing and a positive self-image is of prime importance in developing a sense of belonging. We believe in imparting a sense of confidence and competence as well as a sense of joy and wonder in life and learning. Each child is valued as a unique individual with a right to self-expression. Children are given choices, and are able to participate in a variety of experiences, including opportunities to learn about themselves and the world around them. They have time to advance their learning by exploring, repeating activities, and to experience meaningful interactions with educators and children. We believe in providing a safe, relaxed and inclusive environment that is rich in a variety of challenges and materials. Children have opportunities to solve problems, make decisions, experience success and in turn achieve a sense of empowerment.
