Hi my name is Kylee Kenn,
I am the Centre Manager and Nominated Supervisor for Kids Capers Childcare North Lakes where I work closely with my Assistant Centre Manager Kristy Newton. I am also privileged to be the Support Manager to 4 of our centres, Elimbah, Mango Hill and Wamuran.
I started my passion for Early Childhood Education in 2003 and joined the Kids Capers team at Clayfield in 2010. Since then I have transferred Capers centres and built teams and landed here at North Lakes in 2013.
I believe children are the caretakers of our future and we work to give them the skills to live a sustainable life and connect with nature through the many experiences we provide.
Please feel free to come in for a centre tour and have your questions answered. I look forward to meeting you and your family and hope you choose to become a part of our Capers family too.
Hi my name is Kristy Newton,
I am one of the Centre Managers of Kids Capers Northlakes. I have been working in the education and care sector since 2001 and have spent that time in many rewarding roles, I hold my Advanced Diploma in Children Services and I am a firm believer in play based learning.
Children come to us with an amazing amount of knowledge and it’s our role to scaffold the learning around that knowledge. I am proud to work within the Capers team as we are supported and encouraged to be our best and provide the best outcomes for the children in our care.
I understand the importance of the Early Years in building resilient, confident learners and aim to foster supportive relationships within our families and the wider community to support our children to succeed. We look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you transition into our Northlakes community.
Hi, my name is Chantelle Aspland,
I have been a part of the Capers family since 2011, starting as an assistant in one of our nursery’s and advancing to a Lead Educator in several different age groups. I currently hold my Diploma of Children’s services and have recently stepped into an Administration role with our Northlakes centre.
I love stepping into our centre every morning and being greeted by our beautiful little people!
Our centre offers 170 places and caters for the needs of children aged from 6 weeks to school age within 11 spacious air conditioned rooms. We are situated in the North Lakes community just across the road from Bounty Boulevard State School. Our centre follows and believes in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the outcomes it provides for children as individual and creative learners. Our Kindergarten Programs follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and we currently have two Government Approved Kindergarten Programs running.
Educators within the service hold qualifications from Certificates and Diplomas through to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education held by our Kindergarten Teachers, and we would love to share our knowledge with you.
Here at North Lakes we believe in the power of play and the important role it holds in preparing children for their lives as future learners. We Encourage children to take a hands on approach to exploring the world around them, promoting them to be involved in all aspects of the program we provide.
Our recently renovated environments including a fully finctioning kitchen reflect this respect and appreciation of our natural world and we would love to share this with you.
We value family at North Lakes, and want to provide you with an environment that is like a second home to you and your child.
Please feel free to come and visit our service and let us show you around, introduce you to the Educators and explore the numerous environments.
Here at Kids Capers North Lakes we value our connections with our community and strive to provide a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Through open communication and strong partnerships, we commit to supporting our families to raise happy and resilient children.
We understand the impact our environment has on supporting children’s unique learning style, family culture, behaviour and interests. So we will provide positive and engaging experiences designed to foster children’s sense of autonomy and sense of belonging.
We support each Educator’s pedagogy, life experiences and training and use this rich diversity to commit to being the leaders in education and care. Educators strive to develop respectful and trusting relationships with children to support their social and emotional wellbeing.
We recognise that children learn best through play, so support their natural curiosity to create, explore and experiment through all their senses. Therefore, we celebrate that mess can be a by-product of learning. We value the importance of the early years in preparing our children for formal education and lifelong success.
