Hi, my name is Emma Murphy
I am the Support Manager and at Kids Capers Childcare Bald Hills, Clayfield and Northgate. I have my Diploma of children’s services and am currently competing my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) through the Australian Catholic University.
I have been in the childcare industry since 2008, starting out as an assistant educator at Clayfield and then on to Lead Educator positions with various age groups then into a Centre Manger role and now into a Support Manger Role.
I love every aspect of my position, whether it is guiding my amazing team of Educators, working with the families or building relationships with the children. I am extremely passionate about the Early Years Learning Framework and providing a play-based program for children. I am a strong believer that you must be on the floor of your centre, to know your centre.
Nominated Supervisor and Centre Manager
Hi my name is Chantelle Aspland,
I hold my Diploma of Early Childhood and been with the Kids Capers Company since 20111. Starting as an Educator, Lead Educator and Administration officer. I am now proud to say I have taken the opportunity to lead the team at Bald Hills as Centre Manager.
I love every aspect of childcare from the seeing children’s faces light up as they walk through the doors, working alongside my amazing team, in-conjunction with the families and community of Bald Hills. I value the input from my team, families and communities.
I am passionate about creating a warm, caring environment that enriches children’s growth and development and builds strong, confident and resilient children. I believe every child is unique and deserves the right to an inclusive environment which builds strong foundations for their later years.
As you walk through our large wooden recycled front door, you will feel at home. The environment has been mindfully designed with natural furniture and toys. We have also added vintage and upcycled materials to create an environment that is homely and inviting.
Much of our day is spent outdoors in our natural playground which is designed to engage, challenge and provide unlimited learning opportunities. The grassed playscape includes a vegetable garden, a workshop and garage, a huge climbing log, a cubby, a tunnel and plenty of spaces to play, create and pretend.
We run a play based program where children build on their current interests and family lifestyle practices while following the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). We also provide a Government Approved kindergarten Program following the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
The Centre provides sought after nursery places for babies from 6 weeks of age. Our beautiful rooms and outdoor environment combined with the nurturing nature of our experienced Educators, make Kids Capers Bald Hills your home away from home.
We recognise that as parents you are your child’s first and most influential teacher, which is why our team of Educators pride themselves on working to build strong and meaningful partnerships with our families. We invite you to visit our centre and meet our team in the hope that you will become part of the Kids Capers Bald Hills community.
When you walk through our upcycled courthouse door, you will discover a natural environment that is unique, inclusive, safe and engaging. The environment will also reflect our endeavour to embed sustainable practices and work toward a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and future for our community.
We recognise that our families are their children’s first and most influential Educators. We place a strong emphasis on building secure, respectful and reciprocal partnerships with our families, to ensure they feel valued and supported in the children’s journey of belonging, being and becoming.
To further enrich children’s learning we strive to ensure our connections with our community are equally as meaningful to reflect the diverse community we live in. This includes embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our curriculum to reflect our respect for the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, play and learn, and their culture.
We hold high expectations and promote equity for the children in our care. We work toward the best outcomes for each child through planning for their individual learning style and providing fun, play-based learning, which supports children’s sense of agency and natural curiosity to create, explore and learn.
To support this, Educators build meaningful relationships through genuine, responsive and warm interactions. Educators encourage the same respectful and inclusive relationships between children and their peers so they can also learn from one another through peer-to-peer learning.
We value the experience and knowledge each Educator brings to our team and through a commitment to ongoing learning and reflective practice, we will continually improve the high quality of Education and Care we provide.
Here at Kids Capers Bald Hills, we make our early childhood program a celebration of learning and building lifelong relationships.
