Nominated Supervisor, Centre Three Manager
Hi, my name is Janessa Travia,
I am the Centre Manager and Educational Leader. I have been working with Kids Capers since 2009. Starting as a student I progressed through various roles before joining the Management team in 2016. I hold a Diploma of Children's Services and I am currently studying my Bachelor of Education through ACU.
I am very passionate about the early years and believe that the first 5 years are an important part of a child's life and I am honoured to be a part of it. I view all children as capable and competent and believe that every child's day should be joyous, filled with hands on learning that stems from their own interests.
I love to be more hands on across the centre, working in the rooms and supporting the Centre Leaders. As the Educational Leader I will guide the Educators to create the best outcomes for your children ensuring they uphold our centre philosophy, make learning more evident and keep it consistent across the centre. I look forward to joining you and your child/ren as they journey through our centre.

Facilities & Programs
We opened in 2003, run by a passionate team of dedicated Educators. Our centre offers 244 places for the needs of children from the age of six weeks to six years.
We are very proud to announce that in March of 2016 Kids Capers Clayfield received an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard.
In 2017 we extended the centre to include an additional three rooms of Approved Kindergarden places that follow the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). We now have thirteen spacious air-conditioned rooms including natural indoor and outdoor play spaces, an animal farm, on site pool with swimming lessons to name a few.
All of our educators hold relevant qualifications for their rolls or are studying towards these. Our Educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and provide all children with equal opportunities within our play based environment.
We are conveniently located just down the road from Eagle Junction station and buses, or a short drive to Brisbane City.
The children are free to move through our blooming vegetable gardens, slide down our log slide, get a little wet while they role play in the boat, climb over and through our logs, and explore our rocky creek bed in our dinosaur park. When they are ready to move inside they can bring with them the produce from our gardens and get inventive in our children’s kitchen.
We welcome you to call the centre or drop in where we can answer your questions, introduce you to our team of Educators and walk you through all the environments.
At Kids Capers Childcare Clayfield we believe our team provides your family’s home away from home.
When you join us, you join the Kids Capers Family who advocate for the best outcomes for all children.
We believe the rights of the children are paramount and all children have the right to experience high
quality education and care. We encourage children’s independence and resilience, providing them with
tools to thrive when faced with day to day challenges. Therefore, we view all children as successful,
competent, capable learners and decision makers in their life and learning.
We believe families are the first and most influential teachers of their children. We embrace diversity
through an inclusive culture that promotes equity. We do this through meaningful partnerships with
families based on understanding each other’s expectations and attitudes, and building on the strength
of each other’s knowledge. Families are the foundation of our community, we encourage and value any
collaboration and input into our program.
We provide an environment that is welcoming to all. We create physical and social learning environments
that are safe, engaging and are responsive to children’s culture, interests, needs and abilities. Our
environment aims to promote exploration, sensory learning and a connection to our natural world. We
embed sustainable practices and foster children’s respect for the world around them.
Our curriculum embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to reflect our respect for the
traditional custodians of the land on which we work, learn and play. Children love to play, and we believe
play promotes positive dispositions towards learning. We provide a play-based context for learning,
where children feel supported to engage in critical thinking to organise and make sense of their world.
We acknowledge our Educator’s strengths and work cohesively and ethically as a team to provide an
environment conducive to children’s learning and development. We build meaningful relationships with
the children, their families and the community that are secure, respectful and reciprocal. Our motivated
and engaged Educators apply best practice through a commitment to ongoing learning, reflective
practice and continuous improvement to create the best outcomes for the children in our care.
