Nominated Supervisor and Centre Manager
Hi My name is Jacki Hattersley,
I started working in Childcare by studying through a traineeship, which is where I first found my passion for working with children. During my first year in childcare I completed a Cert 3 in Children’s Services and enjoyed every minute of it. It was amazing to see those tiny humans blossom into independent, confident children. In 2013, I decided to further my studies and complete a Diploma of Children’s Services.
Child care is my passion and I feel lucky to get to do this for my career. I’ve been apart of the Kids Capers family since 2013 and have loved working for such an amazing company. My role as Centre Manager provides me the opportunity to work alongside children, families and staff. I look forward to seeing what the future has in store.
Please do don’t hesitate to talk to me and I will help in any way that I can.
Kids Capers Wamuran is a quiet and home-like rural centre located opposite the Wamuran State School. We have four rooms that open up onto three large natural outdoor play areas. We cater for children from 6 weeks to school age. We also offer a Government Approved Kindergarten Program with a qualified Early Childhood Teacher following the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). Our Educators aim to provide a creative and meaningful program that encourages a love of learning and prepares children for school.
Our program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) with the belief that through play babies and young children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create.
We believe our greatest asset is our team of qualified, committed and caring Educators throughout our centre. We welcome you to call or visit us to meet the team and view our centre at any time.
Educational Program and Practice
We recognise that children learn best through play and want to provide them every opportunity for this throughout their day. We want to provide an open-ended program that allows for children to have input into the daily curriculum. We want a program that is stimulating and fun, while encouraging them to learn and try new things. We value a program that supports children’s development physically, socially and emotionally.
Health and Safety
Our centre promotes children’s health and safety. This is evident in our inclusive environments, our daily procedures and practices, by promoting healthy lifestyles and managing supervision and safety of all children within our care.
Our centre is situated in a beautiful area with inviting indoor and outdoor play spaces. We offer a natural environment where children are encouraged to play, explore and learn. We provide indoor/outdoor play throughout our day that promotes opportunities to engage and enhance children’s development and learning.
We support our Educator’s pedagogy and encourage them to incorporate their diversity into the centre. We believe every Educator has different strengths that are an asset to the team. We encourage our Educators to further their skills and knowledge by providing online and face to face training several times throughout the year, which increases their ability to educate, guide and care for each child.
Relationships with Children
Our Educators recognise the importance of our commitment to building strong, respectful relationships with each child. Our aim is to create a meaningful bond with each child to ensure they feel a sense of belonging within this environment. As a centre community, we strive to promote a strong sense of social wellbeing between our children, fostering lifelong connections.
Partnerships with Families and Communities
We believe that childcare should be an extension of the home and that building a relationship with the families and communities is important to bridge that gap. Our centre is community focused and values positive partnerships with local schools, businesses and early childhood support services. Our centre fosters a partnership with our local school through our excursions with our kindy children to their prep centre.
Governance and Leadership
We understand that effective leadership builds and promotes consistence throughout the operation of a service. Our aim is to embed, reflect and constantly improve our service to provide quality care for all.
