Kids Capers BALD HILLS Centre Philosophy

Centre Philosophy

“We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Caretakers of the land, on which we learn and play. We recognise their continued connection to land, water and community and pay deep respects to all Elders - past and present”

Here at Kids Capers Childcare Bald Hills, we are a passionate team of educator’s and early childhood teachers dedicated to providing a home away from home for every child in care. When you join us, you are joining the Kids Capers Family.

Our Children

We believe our children are the forefront that drives our curriculum. Children love to play, and we believe play supports various dispositions such as confidence, creativity, and imagination. We provide a play-based curriculum, where children feel supported to make choices regarding their own play and learning. We support children through transitions, working to foster strong, secure attachments with nurturing educators, and inviting them to experience, learn and grow from their peers.

We celebrate diversity and show great respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture. Through a diverse, inclusive, and responsive program, we ensure each child feels valued for who they are – for their own unique skills, interests and emerging abilities. We encourage the holistic development of each child -promoting independence, resilience and a sense of self-worth that they can carry with them beyond their Early Years Learning journey.

Our Families

We believe our families are a strong part of our foundation and we value the important role they play in being a child’s first teacher. We build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders; believing it provides flourishing futures for all children within our Bald Hills Community. We believe that collaborative partnerships between our educators, families, children, and community, enable us to create a space that promotes relationships that are respectful, reciprocal, equitable and inclusive. We hold high regard for our families involvement within our service and program, constantly seeking more ways to engage and collaborate to maximise learning outcomes for all children in care.

"I love the variety of activities! It's like he's used every sense and style of learning each day".

Our Educators

Our educators are welcoming, passionate, and committed to developing nurturing and trusting relationships with our children and families. Our educators are committed to Reconciliation and continue to grow and learn professionally through regular professional development and training. We embed love, laughter and learning in our everyday practices, providing a fun, play based curriculum for children to explore and experience life’s wonders. We value our educator’s passion, experience, emerging knowledge, and their variety of teaching styles, along with each educator bringing their own strengths and talents.

Our Community

Kids Capers Childcare Bald Hills are dedicated to supporting and building relationships within the community. We are consistently striving for higher levels of community engagement by attending local events, network meetings and embracing collaborative, meaningful relationships throughout our Bald Hills Community. Quality environments that promote and support children’s learning and development is important. At Kids Capers Bald Hills, you will discover natural environments that are unique, inclusive, safe, and inviting. The environment reflects our efforts to embed sustainable practices that work towards a more holistic approach, supporting the wellbeing and longevity of our local and wider community.

Our Leadership

We believe effective leadership is one that learns from, challenges, and grows together. Through our distributed leadership model, children learn through collaboration and communication with adults, educators and their peers. As leaders we promote positive interactions to enable the children to model positive behaviour. We endeavour to lead and guide our educators to promote professional growth, collaborative working partnerships and a positive environment for families, children and educators.
