Kids Capers MANGO HILL Centre Philosophy

Centre Philosophy

“We would like to recognise the traditional landowners, the Gubbi Gubbi and Kabi Kabi people, on whose land we play and learn.”

Our Children

Our children are capable individuals who have a healthy curiosity and learn through play. We support them to grow into happy and well-adjusted individuals while they develop their sense of belonging, being and becoming in an inclusive environment. The children’s happiness, wellbeing and safety is paramount while we support them to develop relationships with others.

Our children like: “I like everything” - Luna “I like colouring in drawings” - Arabella “I like pens and paper. I like to play with some toys” - Marcellus Wherever possible we capture their voices, which is the foundation of our program.

Our Families

Our families play a vital role in contributing towards the overall wellbeing and development of our children. Open, clear and honest communication is paramount, and we pride ourselves on checking in with our families and offering additional support when needed.

“We strive to get to know each family so that we can create a more personalised experience and work collaboratively to achieve best outcomes for all.” - Miss Kara

Our Educators

Our educators are committed to welcoming each child and their family every day with kindness and support, in the form of a smile and friendly face, offering a hand and a cuddle whenever it is needed. We are open to finding new ways that help us critically reflect and improve our practices. We are a team of professionals who assist one another, creating a space that represents our diverse cultures and differences. We believe our environments to be the third teacher, offering warmth, security and fun, ensuring every child and their family feel safe, supported and included.

“I take pride in communicating with my cultural language to the children who are from the same culture and have noticed they really feel safe and secure in the new environment when they initially start” - Miss Sofia

Our Community

Our community is an important connection between our centre and the world around us. We organise incursions and excursions to enable our children to embrace new experiences while developing connections with our wider community. We are privileged to have a vast area of natural surroundings, allowing the children to be actively involved in taking care of our land, connecting to country through Lake and Beach Kindy programs. We are committed to our Reconciliation Action Plan through creating learning opportunities that explore the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and cultures.

Our Leadership

Our Leaders consider it important that everyone feels empowered and proud to belong to the Kids Capers Mango Hill family. Our Capers family is one where all children, families, educators, and community members feel safe, secure, and supported throughout their journey with us. Our leaders are hands on and love to spend time with everyone, getting amongst the community, building relationships through trust, connections, and conversations. We wish to share our collective passion and excitement for learning in the early years with all.
