Kids Capers SCARBOROUGH Centre Philosophy

Centre Philosophy

Here at Kids Capers Scarborough, we show respect to the traditional custodians of this sacred land on which we meet and pay our respects to the elders, past present and emerging.”

Our Children

We view each child as individuals and enable them to explore their interest, make choices, decisions, and influence events within their world. We understand that is essential that every child is to feel a sense of belonging, to be in the moment and be themselves in the environment around them. We value the importance of building strong relationships that ensure children feel a sense of security, which is the foundation of care.

Our Families

We recognise our families are their child’s first teachers and most valuable resource to them. We believe in honest and consistent communication which in return will create a positive space that foster welcoming, personal and secure environments for our families which supports us to build partnerships with families where their values and diversity are respected and incorporated into their child’s learning.

Our Educators

We value and recognise the strengths, experiences, and knowledge of all educators and their vital role they play in the day to day running of the service. We have a strong focus of continuous professional development which will enhance the quality of programs offered for the children, while supporting their professional growth within themselves as educators. Our educators are consistently working together to provide quality care and best outcomes of all children, while creating a warm and welcoming environment.

Our Community

Our local community is an essential part of children generating a sense of belonging and assist them to feel a part of their community. We aim to create opportunities for children to learn how to influence, identify and integrate with their local community through regular Beach Kindy excursions that aim to embed sustainable practices that foster children’s respect for the world around them. We want to cultivate respect and appreciation through engagement with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community as the original caretakers of this land and all other community members.

Our Leadership

Our leadership team believe that children are our future. Through our strong connections with families, educators, and the greater community, we will work together to provide children with a safe, stimulating environment that instils a love of learning. Our leadership team are advocates for children and their families as our team of dedicated educators ensure they develop meaningful and nurturing relationships that are inclusive and supportive to all children, families, and the community.
